Can Canada grow more of its own food? Greenhouses, vertical farming make it possible, experts say U.S. supplies 67 per cent of Canada’s vegetable imports and 36 per cent of its fruit imports https://www.cbc.ca/radio/costofliving/canada-tariffs-food-grow-buy-canadian-1.7508121

I think this is going to be a lasting trend among currencies everywhere that have some credibility. The U.S. dollar was the one currency everyone trusted because the USA was predictable. Its leaders not only enforced but followed the law. d/t can’t follow rules. So he will set the example by continually breaking laws. So it’s actually the U.S. dollar collapsing not the Canadian dollar. The world is going to be looking for another reserve currency. Canada remains under threat of annexation. So it probably won’t be us unless the whole world brings the USA to its feet and makes them dump j/t legally. Have a look at world currencies that are distant from North America like the Euro and the Swiss franc.

We need to legalize/permit people to grow their own food. Where I am we have urban hens allowed for eggs, but a small scale "meat crop" would be nice like quail or a breeding pair of meat rabbits per household. Of course there must be regulations for the welfare of the animals, but right now hens are allowed, rabbits can't be bred, pigeons and ducks must be housed at least 75 meters from your house (I'm in a trailer park) and quail need a permit for exotics. At least in my area. At least we can still garden for ourselves, even if it's just pots on a balcony.

OH I LOVE THIS ARTICLE. Samritha Arunasalam wrote, "I feel like a big bubble has burst for a lot of Canadians, and I think a lot of people are realizing how much stuff they're buying is actually not from Canada," he said. "There's seeds that have been planted in the consumers' heads. People are like, I don't want to be dependent on America … and it was a really important kick in the butt that I think Canadians needed." i love this. being raised on an organic vegetable farm, knowing how labour intensive, and having that as our income to live off of, i appreciate this canadian movement.

i like this statement "It was just very easy for a long time to rely on them. And, it just worked until it didn't." canada just has to follow the netherlands example. WE WILL BE ALL RIGHT.

I think it's more in the Winter that the U.S is providing us with our fruits and veggies. It's mostly all Canadian in the warmer months.
