@everyone What are your thoughts on this? Mark Carney is most likely to be Justin Trudeaus replacement. https://www.ctvnews.ca/video/2025/03/08/mark-carney-well-on-his-way-to-win-liberal-leadership-call-for-snap-election-analyst/

For me it's the policies he's going to run on, and the cabinet seats he's going to replace before the next election. Right now, I'm still leaning CPC but I'm tired of the name calling too. Politicians need to hold themselves to higher standards if they want to be leaders. That being said, immigration, housing, national debt, and Canadian Pride are something the LPC have lost control of. Too many scandals as well that we've all swept under the rug. Oh and Steven Guilbeault has to go. Someone that puts the country before their own ideals.

Yes. A lot of very good stuff.

For sure, and with the help from everybody. That would be one of the things I like about the Liberal party: a deep and broad bench of talent.

Liberals have actually been polling really good since Justin Trudeau stepped down.

You're right about that. Too much negativity and attacking each other.

Agree with Rick that the PC party is not the party that it was. I’m so done with the mud-slinging that happens in politics today and PP, to me, is the slimy one. Carney is probably the one who can beat PP but if I had a vote it would be for Freeland.

I stated voting green the last two elections, I used to be conservative too, but I was tired of the party being overrun with anti everything, anti liberal, anti abortion, anti gay, anti climate change, anti this, anti that. I wanted to vote for a party that is for something, so now I vote green.

Oh and i will not be surprised to see a landslide putting out most of the liberal seats that's my prediction

Oh i very much do not trust this candidate. He is slithery. Sorry to everyone who is liking him. I also work by process of elimination when i vote. There is deception happening from all parties. So I'm having a hard time pinning down my choice. I'm actually debating green party. Wild I know. I've never voted green before. Perhaps it's time.

Looking at his work experience and international experience, I think we need him at the helm to deal with the chaos south of our border, and to broaden our trade and security relationship with European (and Pacific) countries.

I grew up in Alberta and everyone I knew, including my parents voted conservative just because! When I got older I moved to BC and voted NDP as they more aligned with my world view. The conservative party 30 years ago was a very different party than it is today.Canadians don't seem ready for a NDP government. I think Mark Carney is our best bet for the next few years especially if it means beating the angry, bigoted conservative party led by the empty suit pp.

Carney is fine with me. The conservatives are a terrible fit for Canada politically. For the first time in my life it seems that the people of Canada are really united, so lets avoid the politicians who mainly get votes through divisions (building us versus them attitudes that would be the conservatives.) Conservatives are the party serving the whims of the aristocracy, how ever that gets described. Trump demonstrates the outcome of conservatism.

I have never in my life voted as a matter of preference but always as a process of elimination. I'll have to do some platform studying, but in my experience the Conservatives sound very much the Canadian equivalent to the republicans.

Good choice to lead the Liberal party IMO.
